• @Joss Oh fab! Thanks for your positive feedback Joceline. :) BTW, i just had a look at your profile and I LOVE your elevator pitch! It’s a great example!

  • This is a bit more of a formal bio that I have been working on for my website. The visitors to my website will (hopefully!) be expatriated professionals working in large companies, entrepreneurs who have moved abroad and also HR professionals working in the area of international mobility, who might be looking for service providers [...]

@Rosa thanks so much for your great suggestions Rosa. That was so incredibly helpful. I’ve taken on board your points and crafted the following: ‘I help professionals living abroad to master the challenges of working and thriving in their new country.’ Hopefully that’s much more streamlined and punchy! :) It was also really useful to hear [...]

I just think it might be worth pinning the support down to a specific context, just to help people identify and say ’ah yes, that’s just like me’.

@Rosa @dadtasticguy Thanks for the feedback, guys. Do you think the elevator pitch is OK as it stands? (I help professionals relocating abroad to flourish in their new country by mastering their professional and personal challenges without feeling overwhelmed and lost.) Also, yes Rosa – we moved abroad in 2003 and around the same time a friend [...]

OK, I’ve worked through the define your market tool and also had a go with Brady’s original template (I help…get…by…without…) that he set out a couple weeks ago at the beginning of this thread: I help professionals relocating abroad to flourish in their new country by mastering their professional and personal challenges without feeling…[Read more]

  • @Lorena Hey there, you’re not so far away from me in Barcelona (or, at least, less than a day’s drive away..) I think the Get Paid book answers the question ‘why focus ‘ really well. People want a solution that fits their particular need, rather than a general solution. Plus, you get to know your potential [...]

    • Hi Wendy!
Thanks for your comment. I totally agree with you it´s just that I would like to ”solve” so many needs that are out there troubling people. But I will start on one… as soon as I get it.
      Namaste,

  • Hi there, I’m just working with a designer on getting a nice design template for a site within weebly but she hasn’t used Weebly for commercial sites before – normally she uses Joomla (?) Anyway, I want to be able to sell e-books and MP3 downloads via my site – do you know whether that [...]

    Noooo!

One of the things I had to re-learn after years of grad school and studying was how to make things concrete and real for people, rather than abstract or theoretical. So it’s great to have you here! Already I can see what a great elevator pitch you have and that’s a great example.

And I’m intrigued by your pitch now. One of my…[Read more]

That’s great, Brady! I’m just wracking my brains trying to fill in the blanks now! LOL

  • Hurrah! I did it!

I just needed to post something anew…

    All sorted. ;-)

  • No, I won’t be there for calls at 4am. That’s the deepest part of the sleep cycle, I’d need to get up at 3.30am just to have my eyes open enough and I would be verging on brain dead at that time anyway. Going back to bed isn’t an option either as the family gets [...]

  • Thanks, everyone, for your replies. Interesting – I liked the ‘energy’ of that site design but I also agree with some of the other comments where people found it hard to navigate, where some of the visuals were a bit confusing.
